How much protein can the body process at a time

Posted by Jokaman

How much protein can the body process at a time. Example: I just ate about 100 grams for dinner immediately following a hard lift. Will my body make use of all of that, or will it go to waste?

I'd appreciate any helpful information....thanks!

Nobody knows exactly how much protein the body actually uses. If they did, there would never be a dispute about protein consumption in the nutrition or bodybuilding world. But, as we all know, it very much is in dispute.

As far as eating a lot of protein at one sitting.....studies have been done which suggest that there is no substantial benefit to your bodies' protein absorption by spreading the protein out over many meals. Anotherwords, you would do just as well to eat a lot of protein in one meal. That isn't to say that there aren't other good reasons to eat multiple meals throughout the day, because there ARE good reasons to do that which I won't go into.

I tend to disagree, studies have shown that the body can only process about 30 grams of protein in one sitting. Best thing to do is limit the protein in one sitting and eat maybe 5 or 6 meals a day w/ about 30 grams in each. That would be plenty of protein for one day.

A HEALTHY PERSON CAN UTALIZE ABOUT 30 TO 40grams OF PROTEIN AT ONE SITTING.HIGHER PROTEIN INTAKE OVER TIME CAN CAUSE STRESS ON THE LIVER. KEEP THE TOXINS IN THE LIVER DILUTED BY CONSUMING PLENTY OF WATER ABOUT TWO GALLONS A DAY.

IT'S RECOMMENDED TO INTAKE PROTEIN ABOUT 6-7 TIMES A DAY(about 35g at a time), THIS CARRIES THE EXTRA BENEFIT OF HAVING CONSTANT AMINO ACIDS FLOW IN YOUR BODY; THIS ALSO SPARES THE PROTEIN YOU ALREADY HAVE STORED AS MUSCLE.
