Portion size method for bodybuilding

To get big i have read that you need to eat 6-7 small-medium size meals...my question is what exactly is a small to medium size meal?

First of all, it depends on what type of "big" you want. if you want to look like a lineman than you would have to eat a huge amount, but if you just want to put on a little muscle and remain (?) fairly cut, then youll have to regulate calories more closely. The size and volume of your fist is what i use as a measurement. depending on your metabolism and the specific foods youre eating, you may need more. for example, some people need to eat everything in site to gain muscle, but if i were do that i would gain a lot of fat because my metablosim is on the slow side. i would suggest trying to use the fist as a baseline and adjusting to see what works for you.

Well im about 5'10 160 and i want to get up to anywhere from 170-180 by the end of the year. I dont think its gonna be hard to get to 170 since i've lost some weight due to my injury which has kept me out of the gym for a few months. But the chiropractor said i shoudl be in lifting condition in two weeks.

It is definately easier to gain back muscle you once had than to build muscle you never had. just make sure to go back into it slowely so you dont reaggravate your injury. have you thought about getting physical theraphy. a licensed therapist will help you to rebuilt stability in the injured area to help prevent reinjuring yourself. where i live, a few of the gyms have licensed therapists who have more experience specific to weight lifting, so i would suggest going to someone like that (if you can get insurance to pay for it). good luck.
